While I Was Away

The world kept turning
While I was away for a few days In Brockton, Massachusetts, visiting my In-Laws, a few things happened...

Mitch McConnell said something stupid about the Bush tax cuts expiring... again. And I quote:
"You're talking about current tax policy...When did it all of a sudden become something that we, quote, 'pay for?"
When? I believe it was when the current system was set up, by a guy named Hamilton... during a time when Mercantilism was going the way of the Dodo, and this variation of it popped up. It's a thing you are supposed to be a proponent of, Senator. It's called Capitalism, Maybe you should read some Adam Smith, Mitch.
Sen. McConnell, try to understand, America understands tax policy a fair bit better than you think they do. What you said there makes you sound silly.
And I'm being nice by only using the word silly.

The President went on Vacation. In a move that surprised and angered Republicans, Barack Obama had the unmitigated gall to take a ten day vacation while President of the United States.
Surprising they are bitching this much, seeing how he has taken less than half the days off than Former President GWB took in the same amount of time during his first Administration. During that time in Bush's first term that 9/11 happened, during the same time he formulated his plan to "create consent" rather than ask for it, to invade Iraq, during the same time he foisted upon the people the Tax cuts that have done so much damage to the economy...
...That Mitch McConnell wants to keep, even though he doesn't know that you have to pay for these things.

Rand Paul lost ground in polling in Kentucky. A poll conducted by Braun research from August 16th to August 18th showed that Jack Conway and Rand Paul are now in a dead heat for the hotly contested Senate seat in Kentucky. The change from prior polling suggests that talk from Rand Paul about Illegal drugs not being a pressing Issue and his putting down the world renown "Fancy Farm Picnic" contributed to Senate hopeful Paul's drop in the polls.
Braun's previous poll had Rand Paul up by 10 points two weeks ago.
Drugs, Mr. Paul, are Bad, M'kay?
Aaaand... You do NOT talk bad about the Fancy Farm Picnic in Kentucky. THAT was a stupid move on Paul's part.

Pakistan is still under water, and still desperately needs help. Give if you can.
There will still be a mosque built in New York City, no matter how much you dislike it.
Barack Obama is still Hawaiian(and Birthers are still idiots).
The Yankees still have the best record in baseball, and Robinson Cano is still gunning for league MVP.
It's good to be back in New York City. I'll write to you tomorrow, America, have a good one.

Why is it that Republicans call it "home" when Bush spent time in Crawford, he bought the damn house when he was running for office and had taxpayers spend ungodly amount of money wiring and securing it, to give that down home Texas appeal to his presidency. Ask him where he's living now. In the suburbs in Houston. He doesn't use the Crawford home anymore, no more photo ops? AWWWW.
By the way, LOVE New York, it was on my "bucketlist", not that I'm going anywhere soon, just sat with the old man and watched the movie and came up with things we'd put on our own lists. I had the pleasure of visiting, finally, this past May. My week went by so fast that I felt like I was actually leaving home and longed for going back while I was laying over in Gerogia, when I left to come home.

You lied about Bush and vacations, Bush spent many weekends in his own home in Crawford, but 50 thousand dollar house rentals in Marthas Vineyard and 70 thousand in security to Spain for the misses, I don't think so, libs bitched about Bush and Golf untill Obama came around also! Tax cut have never hurt this country, lower taxes is what built this country! Spending by the out of control government is the problem!
